Project Akiko, Bramely, UK

Praetorius was trusted by Akiko to install a set of EV chargers for its fleet at the home office based in Bramely. The project involved the installation of an EV distribution board with two 7.4Kw BG tethered units including load management via CT clamps to cater to specific desires set out by our clients.

Project Phases

Phase 1

As with any of our electrical projects, a survey is conducted, detailing the characteristics of the installation.

These include and are not limited to:

∘ Earthing arrangements
∘ Locations of chargers involving routes
∘ Size of incoming fuse and meter tails
∘ Inclusion of load management systems (CT Clamps)
∘ Installation of EV consumer unit

Phase 2

Upon notification of planned works to the distribution network operative, (DNO), planning is compiled together with necessary materials. Liaising with the director to confirm a date chosen for planned works is confirmed at this time.

Phase 3

Before any works are undertaken, notification to staff is made, following with safe isolation procedures to main incoming services to ensure no live circuits are present.

Upon confirmation of dead circuits, works may commence.

Phase 4

After installation of a designated EV distribution board and two tethered BG EV chargers, final inspections are made to ensure any snagging issues do not arise.

Phase 5

Dead and live testing procedures are carried out to fully ensure installed circuits are met with current electrical standards and operate as intended.

Upon completion of tests, a walkthrough of correct operational use is demonstrated with pairing of the EV chargers designated apps with staff.

Commissioning at this stage is involved with records of tests handed to the client and records of the EV charger uploaded to the DNO network.
